Jason Chung is a neurosurgery resident at the University of California, San Francisco and a postdoctoral researcher in Edward Chang’s lab. His research explores how single neurons encode human neural functions, with the goal of developing engineering-based solutions to restore neurological abilities lost as a result of injury or disease.
Chung earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of California, San Francisco, where he conducted his doctoral research in Loren Frank’s lab. His work focused on developing polymer-probe-based implantable electrophysiological recording systems and spike-sorting algorithms.
