Carsen Stringer is a group leader at HHMI Janelia Research Campus. Our lab combines ML/AI techniques with large-scale neural imaging to investigate plasticity rules and sensory and motor representations in cortical circuits. In addition, our lab develops general algorithms for cellular segmentation, which enable fast and accurate processing of ~50,000 neuron recordings.

Immune cell interlopers breach—and repair—brain barrier in mice
The choroid plexus, the protective network of blood vessels and epithelial cells that line the brain’s ventricles, recruits neutrophils and macrophages during inflammation, a new study shows.
